2002 Not-So-Haunted House

Sunday, November 3, 2002

We did the haunted house. About 60 people came. They went through about 3x each. This year, we started in the front. They signed in then went through the graveyard. We added the fence/pillars/gate and my dad got a casket for us to use. We had Anthony's display case on the side of the fort. The coffee table had the new red pillows with knifes/daggers on them. In the fort, we had a mad scientist again. Mark Jensen hid under the table and jumped out at the people. They had a lot of fun. The kids then went to the play house they walked past the new cage. Zachary was in there on the 25th but he didn't want to on Halloween, so it was empty on Halloween. We also added the ghost house. Ondylyn was the ghost (Sarah Williams) we used a picture frame and had the lights on really bright so it looked like a mirror. A lot of the kids thought it was really cool. They didn't know how we did it. We had the gallows again this year. The kids went into the strobe-light tunnel. We divided it into a winding hallway so there were lots of walls to hide behind. We didn't have enough people though. On the cement pad, we had a toxic victim. Everyone thought he was an alien. It looked cool, but we didn't scare very many people. The kids then went to the guillotine. We have to figure out how to keep the kids from seeing the body afterwords. We did the rat brick pile thing again. We had the people write comments. We even had $0.52 donated! Halloween was on a Thursday this year. We had to tear everything down on Halloween night because we started digging for the addition on Friday, November 2.
